Transforming Lives Through Weight Loss: The Journey of Joshua and Sarah

Joshua's Struggles and Transformation

At 30 years old, Joshua Hilton struggled with his weight of 20 stone (127kg). Feeling unhealthy and isolated, he embarked on a life-changing journey on New Year's Day 2024.

"I wasn't living, just existing,"Joshua confesses. "I'd tried countless diets but couldn't find a sustainable solution."

The Support of Sarah Jane Clark

Joshua found support in his former hairdressing teacher, Sarah Jane Clark, who was also on a weight loss journey. Together, they made a pact to lose weight and focused on a gradual and sustainable approach.

Healthy Weight Loss through Calorie Deficit

Joshua followed a calorie deficit diet, consuming fewer calories than he burned each day. He focused on protein, vegetables, and fiber, while still indulging in moderate amounts of takeaways and treats.

Over the course of a year, Joshua lost an incredible nine stone (57kg), while Sarah shed 12.5 stone (76kg), reaching a combined weight loss of 22 stone (139kg).

There's No Secret Formula

Both Joshua and Sarah emphasize that weight loss is not about quick fixes or eliminating certain foods.

"It's about portion control, protein, vegetables, and fiber," Joshua explains. "You don't have to give up the foods you love."

Challenging Diet Culture

Joshua is passionate about challenging misconceptions about weight loss and diet culture. "We're fighting against toxic fad diets and the stigma around food addiction," he says.

The Power of Support

Joshua and Sarah's shared experiences and mutual support played a crucial role in their success. "It's not just about food; it's about the mental side and the triggers that lead us to overeat," says Joshua.

Sharing Knowledge and Inspiring Others

Inspired by their journeys, Joshua and Sarah share their insights and support others through their Tiktok and Facebook platforms.

"People say New Year's resolutions don't last, but they can,"smiles Joshua. "You can enjoy food and still lose weight."
